There are many sources of information on responsible dog ownership covering everything from health, training schemes, microchipping, dog clubs and rights and responsibilities. A first start could be the Kennel Club's excellent publication "The Canine Code", which covers most aspects of responsible dog ownership from choice of breed to the Good Citizen Dog Scheme.
